Frequently Asked Questions

Everything you need to know about parkzeit, installation, battery life, and daily use.

How can parkzeit have up to 4 years of battery life on a single AA battery?

parkzeit uses approximately 500 mAh of power per year, based on around 40 minutes of driving per day. If you use a lithium AA battery with a capacity of 3500 mAh, the unit can operate for up to 7 years under these conditions. We state up to 4 years of battery life because some versions include a 2100 mAh battery, which provides approximately 4 years of use.

Why didn’t parkzeit use an extra battery or choose 2 AAA batteries or button cells instead?

One AA battery offers more capacity than 2 AAA batteries, while also keeping battery replacement simple, affordable, and convenient wherever you are. A button cell battery typically has around 600 mAh capacity, and a AAA battery around 1000 mAh. This means that one AA battery offers approximately 3–4 times the capacity of a button cell battery and about 2 times the capacity of a AAA battery. If we had used additional AA batteries, the unit would have become too large and too heavy for the 3M mounting pads. Our goal was to create the best possible balance between size, weight, battery life, and ease of use.

Do I need to remove the unit when setting manual time or changing the battery?

No. The front holder remains attached to the window, while the unit itself can easily slide out of the holder. This makes it simple to change the battery and to set night parking or manual parking. You do not need to work on a fixed mounted device—you can hold the unit comfortably in your hand while making adjustments.

Why doesn’t the unit come with a complete printed manual?

The main instructions are printed inside the box, and we have made a conscious effort to reduce environmental impact by limiting printed materials. A QR code is also printed inside the unit itself, so it cannot be misplaced. Whenever you need help, you can simply scan the code and open the manual quickly on your phone.

Do I need to monitor the battery level to know when the battery should be changed?

No. The unit includes a battery indicator, but this is mainly for information. When the battery level becomes low, parkzeit enduro will give a beep each time it exits parking mode. This means you will receive a clear warning when you start driving, typically around 4–5 months before the battery needs to be replaced.
